South Paws Offers Advanced Veterinary Imaging Capabilities

Veterinary Medicine is always evolving and we want to offer the best imaging and diagnostics available. By providing unparalleled imaging capabilities and exceptional personal service, South Paws is able to offer quick scheduling and prompt care, all with the convenience and comfort of an outpatient service. Not only will this be a great addition to our surgery service, but South Paws also offers Outpatient Imaging Service for use by all of our veterinary colleagues. South Paws is excited to operate this outpatient MRI and CT service as a seamless extension to our referring veterinarians’ practices.

South Paws Veterinary Surgical Specialists uses the Esoate Veterinary MRI for our magnetic resonance imaging needs. The unit is located at the South Paws facility for ease of use and patient convenience. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is most commonly done when other standard methods of imaging, such as radiographs and ultrasound, are not adequate to demonstrate the problem. Our MRI is an “open” MRI system specifically designed for veterinary patients.

Our computed tomography (CT) unit is the Samsung Neurologica Cere-Tom 8 slice scanner. Also located at the South Paws facility, the CT provides an extremely fast and portable imaging modality. Additionally, the CereTom has state of the art 3-D rendering of images, giving us an enormous amount of information for pre-surgical planning.

Veterinary MRI and CT provide advanced, non-invasive imaging modalities to our hospital, adding to our diagnostic arsenal and offering us multiple options for the most accurate diagnosis. It allows us to offer veterinarians, clients and their pets a higher standard of care. With the addition of teleradiology, we can provide timely, detailed reports, and give our veterinarians the tools to practice collaborative medicine dedicated to supporting the care of their patients.
